FPS Scotland
FPS Scotland was formed in November 2001 at a meeting in the COSLA offices when property representatives of 28 of the 32 councils met with representatives of the Scottish Professional Societies.
Links were put in place with the Scottish Executive and with CIPFA and these are being consolidated together with new links to other organisations.
The role of FPS Scotland was agreed as:
An umbrella organisation representing a consolidated voice on property matters to the Scottish Executive, COSLA, Audit Scotland and any other interested parties.
The membership of FPS Scotland is open to:
- The group is open to Directors of the Property Function or the most senior property person within the authority.
- Each of the Property Societies present in Scotland (ACES, COPROP, SCEME, SCQS) would be represented by the Chairman and one other permanent representative.
The group has produced a general leaflet on Property in Scotland which was warmly welcomed by the Minister.
They are now working closely with the Scottish executive on the development of School Estate Management Plans.
The group works with the Executive, COSLA, Audit Commission and Others to promote Local Authority property interests. For further information please contact abtyler@nildram.co.uk
